Laguna Seca Weekend Cancelled

After nearly a month away from competition, Nicole Havrda and her team made their way to California’s famous Laguna Seca. It was the young driver’s first visit to the iconic rollercoaster of a race track, with it’s famous Corkscrew. Sadly the visit was a short one, as the weekend’s events were cancelled, under rather freak circumstances.

During Friday’s practice there was an incident involving a Formula 1000 car. The ensuing fire was intense enough that it damaged a section of the track’s pavement, cutting short the day’s activities. Unfortunately, it was determined Saturday morning that the new asphalt had not cured enough, leading to the cancellation of the rest of the weekend’s events.

Although disappointed, Nicole did manage to turn some laps on the track, and she couldn’t hide her enthusiasm.

“It was amazing to get to do a few laps on this amazing track and can’t wait to come back in the near future,” she said.
