Nicole Sweeps Weekend at Thunderhill

It was to be an excellent weekend for Nicole at Thunderhill Raceway for the Formula Pro USA series, as fifteen cars made their way to the Northern California track.

Saturday’s qualifying session saw Nicole post a time that was good enough for second on the grid. She would line up next to a multiple Series champion.

The race saw Nicole make an excellent start as the green flag fell, with the young driver taking the lead at the first corner. The two drivers fought tooth and nail, with no quarter given by either one.

The battle came to an unfortunate end on lap six, when Nicole’s rival retired with mechanical issues. Nicole cruised on to take a well deserved win. However, it was a win that almost didn’t happen. On the cool down lap Nicole pulled over with electrical issues. It looked like a long night for the team to get the car ready for Sunday.

Sunday morning dawned with Nicole’s team still working on the car, and it was looking like Nicole might be out for the rest of the weekend. However, thanks to a huge effort by the team, they got the car on the track. Even better, Nicole qualified on pole!

After that, Nicole never looked back, leading from flag to flag. It capped off a nearly perfect weekend for the BC driver.

“YES! Fantastic results from this past weekend,” Nicole said

“We defeated a multiple Series champion. Our dedication, discipline and drive is starting to pay off. It was amazing racing, and I can’t wait for more this year!”

The team now enjoys a two week break before heading to Buttonwillow at the end of April.
