Nicole off to Whitehorse, Yukon
Rising young racing star Nicole Havrda has joined forces with Yukon’s Arctic Training Centre to celebrate Canadian excellence in innovation, resilience, and world-class capabilities in extreme environments and elite international motorsports.
On August 9, an authentic track-ready formula car will be on public display at the new Hyatt Place in Whitehorse, where fans can get a rare up-close look at cutting-edge race tech and meet the driver behind the wheel.
“Nicole’s focus and precision on the track mirror what we need to train for in the Arctic every day,” said Arjun Grewal, founder of the Arctic Training Centre.
“This demonstration is a celebration of Canadian excellence in the North, on the global stage, while highlighting achievements that will inspire the next generation.”
The Arctic Training Centre is building a new centre of excellence for dual-use, dual-purpose innovation in Canada’s North, offering large landscapes and diverse terrain for training, testing, and research and development (R&D) for mission readiness. The centre is designed to serve both military and commercial partners; it embodies a new model of Arctic and sub-Arctic capability development, where technology, talent, and terrain intersect. Supporting both security and industrial clients, the Centre exemplifies a new model of dual-use capability, where innovation under extreme conditions enhances national resilience, signals our sovereignty, and global competitiveness.
“Driving a formula car in the Arctic is something I’ll never forget,” said Havrda.
“I’m proud to partner with organizations that share my passion for pushing the limits of what we can achieve not just individually, but together.
“Their support fuels my drive to compete at the highest level, and I’m proud to partner with those who share my values of resilience, ambition, and national pride.”
This event and special appearance was produced by the Arctic Training Centre in proud partnership with Northern Vision Development (NVD) and the new Whitehorse Hyatt, with support from Dominion Dynamics, Mammoth Marketing, ConvergX, Trailblazer Expediting, Canadian Institute of Arctic Security, and 123 Cyber, with special thanks to the Yukon Government for its support, hospitality, and guidance.
